Home visits are only available, at the Doctors discretion, to those patients too ill to attend the surgery. If the problem is a lack of transport please arrange for a friend, relative or taxi to bring you to the surgery. Please remember a Doctor is able to see up to six patients in surgery in the time that it takes to do one home visit and a more thorough examination is possible.
Please note:
Requests for a home visit should be made before 10.30 a.m.
The Receptionist will ask for full details of the patient and a description of their symptoms.The Doctor may telephone you, prior to the visit, to assess the urgency of the problem and thus plan his round.
Please call the emergency Doctor only if your problem is too urgent to wait for the next available surgery.
